FLIGHTS RESUME FROM SAHNEWAL AIRPORT -BITTU DESCRIBES IT AS HISTORIC STEP WHICH WOULD GIVE MAJOR BOOST TO DEVELOPMENT OF LUDHIANA

Sahnewal (Ludhiana)-In a major boost to the holistic development of industrial hub of state- Ludhiana, the flights from Sahnewal Airport today resumed as the first flight landed at the airport at 1:50 pm, which was welcomed by Lok Sabha MP from Ludhiana Mr. Ravneet Singh Bittu and Deputy Commissioner Mr. Pradeep Kumar Agrawal.
          Elated over resuming of flights, the Lok Sabha MP Mr. Ravneet Singh Bittu said that it would give a major fillip to the economy of the district besides saving time, money and energy of the people desiring to travel to New Delhi. He said that this was a major initiative of the Punjab Government led by Captain Amarinder Singh as under the Udaan Yojna the state government would compensate the Air India for loss if any, for resuming these flights, if the passenger flow was not adequate.
          The MP said that this domestic flight service would be a big boon for the district and it would not be stopped at any cost. He said that after Air India many more private airlines would also start the service from here. Mr. Bittu said that the state government was duty bound to facilitate the people of city at every cost.
          Meanwhile, 41 persons reached Sahnewal from flight whereas 48 people boarded the plane for Delhi. The passengers from the flight also expressed their satisfaction over the starting of this flight.
          On the occasion MLAs Mr Bharat Bhushan Ashu, Mr. Sanjay Talwar and Mr. Amrik Singh and Deputy Commissioner Mr. Pradeep Aggarwal were also present.
